They're familiar faces in the music industry.
You could say they are music royalty in the PNG local scene and never fail to impress or please.
They are the Froggies. Formed in 2009 have had numerous hit tagged to their name.
For now the band's been restricted to a 3 piece outfit. Fronted by Martin Rawali and backed by George Luff and Martin "Fave" Guaba, the band has a unique sound doing covers and their own songs as well.
You can find them jamming at Hodava Hotel every Friday nights at the Murray Barracks Bowling Club from 6pm to 10pm and Saturday nights at the Hodava Hotel from 6pm till late. It's a sure gig that you won't regret whenever they're up on the stage.

Smithsonian Team Visits PNG

By Carolyn Ive January 26, 2011, Port Moresby -- A team from the Smithsonian Natural History Museum visited Papua New Guinea on a fact-finding mission January 13-22. According to the director of the museum, Christian Samper, the purpose of the trip was to highlight the work of the Smithsonian, while offering assistance to PNG’s National Museum. Possible areas of cooperation include documenting and sustaining endangered languages and knowledge. “When a language disappears, knowledge crucial to understanding, humanity and the natural world is lost forever,” said Joshua Bell, curator for Globalization. Bell began his anthropological research in the Purari Delta in 2000. “Languages are disappearing fast, and with it goes the knowledge,” said Bell. “This issue has become a major area of research,” he said.
