Potential Of Commercial Agriculture Very High

I am sort of drained and can't wait to go out on my r&r. It's been a busy couple of week at work, and very interesting at that. A recent show on EMTV triggered a thoughts of what can be, in regard to the region/area I work in.

I still marvel at the beauty of the Hela province and it's potential to become the kingpin province of commercial agriculture. In fact it's the whole highlands region that has that potential.

Of course it needs the collaboration of all parties such as the Local Level and National Government, the private sector, developers and most importantly the people themselves.

People need to be more self reliant and more self sustaining instead of relying on the government and private sector to provide for themselves. Pointing fingers at government bodies and developers should stop and look at oneself for a change.

There is immense potential for banana, corn, potato, cabbage, passion fruit and kaukau plantations and more to feed the work force in the LNG project and other project sites in the country

I guess it is up to individuals to have the same train of thought to get things going coz I think when that happens and community members pull together, things can work.

That's my thought for today...
