Hela Province Beautiful But.....

I am often amazed at the beauty of the Hela province. It's ragged mountains, cool weather, it's rich soil, and fast flowing rivers and natural resources. You stand on the top of a hill and every direction you look, there is beauty.

Makes me wonder why most leave their beautiful homeland and travel to the big city lights. Maybe in search of better services, maybe fleeing tribal conflicts. Either way, I feel individuals in these areas are not doing enough for themselves and their families or clans using their own skills to maximize on their resources. Never mind the oil & gas, that will always come but utilizing their land to earn an extra buck through agriculture is the way to fill the gap when there is a period low cash income.

Anyway, I guess it is up the individual to decide on the path each one takes for a better future for themselves and the children and grandchildren.

See the panoramic photo below of the beautiful mountain range in the Hides area.
