The Government has begun monitoring the internet and has urged citizens to report anyone spreading what it calls "malicious and misleading" anti state information online.
Sharp Talk's committee chairman Ernie Gangloff told Radio Australia's Pacific Beat that's led to some caution in what's said online.
"Apart from just warning everybody that this does exist, people are still exercising free speech and saying things," he said.
"But the administrators of a lot of websites are being extra sensitive about what statements are being posted and what statements are being removed from these, the various social websites."
