 NEWS FROM PARLIAMENT

1) JULY 21 - Scribes from parliament report that the Speaker has adjourned Parliament until November despite evident division on the floor for a vote of no confidence. This means government has stifled any future attempt to topple Somare-led government. Updates Later.



2)JULY 21- Sir Paulias sworn in as GG amidst oppositions outcry. A motion of decent was cast against Deputy speaker Francis Marus but he remains in the chair after a majority of 59 Mps voted in his favor. Parliament is heavily guarded by police and DF soldiers.
