Earth Day - “Protecting the Marine Life of Papua New Guinea: Earth Day Art Contest Winners Announced”

PORT MORESBY – NCDC Governor Powes Parkop and U.S. Chargé D’Affaires Paul Berg are pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Earth Day Art Contest.
Adult Category: First Place, Max Dama; Second Place Daryl Fernandez; Third Place, Bernard Henry; Fourth Place, Molong Beka.
Teenage Category: First Place, Samol Agi; Second Place, Simon Kulol; Third Place, Alice Kuniata; Fourth Place, Raymolt Limu.
Children Category: First Place, Anastasia Krus; Second Place, Sinaia Pakop; Third Place, Ranaot (Manus); Fourth Place, Kayaup Francis.
Honorable Mentions: Barbara Ipasi, Mabaia Mavis Maino, Chautha Kauyap, and Kauta Pof.
Congratulations to the winners. This year’s prizes included domestic tickets from Air Niugini, mobile phones from Bemobile, MP3 Player from Daltron and gift certificates to City Pharmacy.
The Earth Day Celebration on Saturday 24 April from 8:00AM to 11:00AM is open to the general public. The U.S. Embassy and NCDC would like to invite all residents of Port Moresby to come down to Ela Beach to join in the fun and support the environment by participating in the beach cleanup. Following the cleanup there will official speeches, face painting, drama performance by Watate and the presentation of the art contest awards.
