Walk-About Introduction
Hi all,
Haven't got around to actually starting of this blog. But I thought I'd try now.
Well recently I attended a Fellowship in Alotau, Milne Bay Province with other media personalities. The fellowship was organised by SeaWeb a US based NGO that is doing a great job in bridging that gap between the experts in conservation and the media. This fellowship also coincided with the 8th SPREP Conference.
Anyway, it was an eye opener for me. It gave me an insight to what is really happening in the world with regard to conservation and how we in our little country play an important role in this issue.
Well during this couple of days in Alotau, we got to meet a lot of experts on ocean conservation and other fields of conservation as well. Asking them questions to really understand and the world of conservation.
Well, I'd say after all these meetings/sessions I came out with a sorta heavy load.....it's a big fight but hey we're the media! And media is power and a voice for the voiceless. If we can pull together than this wouldn't be a big fight after all.
This has got me more aware environmentally and in my small way hope to promote conservation for the future.
The photos you see are taken at a beach front of a village (Papa) just out of the capital city Port Moresby.
I could go on but times runout for me but so far we have a blog spot as well on the net so please look it up. Check the SeaWeb website http://www.seaweb.org/home.php and go from there....
Cheers
